How to turn an ODP file into a PDF
ODP is the presentation format of LibreOffice Impress and OpenOffice. A PDF of the slides can be opened by anyone, printed as handouts, or sent ahead of a talk.
- Drop the .odp file on the box at the top.
- Check what was found: the number of slides and their size.
- Press Make the PDF, and look at the first slide.
- Press Save the PDF.
What is kept, and what is not
Each slide becomes one page the shape of the slide. Text boxes, titles, bullet points, shapes with a solid colour, tables and PNG or JPG pictures are placed where they were, with their sizes, bold, italic and colours. Hidden slides are left out.
The text is set in Helvetica whatever typeface the slides used, so a line can break in a slightly different place. Charts, video, gradients, shadows, animations and speaker notes are not carried over, and the tool tells you when something was left out.

- Why is a picture missing?
- Pictures saved as SVG or in old Windows drawing formats cannot be placed here. The tool counts them and tells you before you save.
- Is the presentation uploaded?
- No. It is opened and drawn by your browser, on your computer.
