How to get the pictures out of a PDF
A screenshot of a PDF gives you the picture at screen size, cut to what fits. This takes the picture out of the file itself, at its full size.
- Drop the PDF on the box at the top.
- Choose PNG or JPG.
- Leave the box ticked to skip tiny pictures like bullets and lines.
- Press Find the pictures, then Save the pictures. Several pictures come in one zip file.
Why some pictures are missing
Charts and logos are often drawn with lines and shapes rather than stored as pictures, so there is no picture to take out. PDF to PNG saves whole pages as pictures instead.
Good to know
- Is the quality the same as the original?
- PNG keeps every pixel as stored. JPG makes the files smaller and loses a little.
- Can it get pictures from a scan?
- Yes, but a scan is usually one picture per page, so you get the pages.
- Is the PDF uploaded?
- No. The pictures are taken out in your browser.
